| | | Youth In Revolt Youth In Revolt is another comedy that takes being a guy to the next level. This movie is a political win for the male heterosexuality. Normally movies are made with a severe stink of femininity that conveys some Sex in the City Candy Ass message about Women knowing all that is right. Well, if you look at the current state of the United States and perhaps other democratic nations who female population is allowed to vote, you will notice how shitty it is. This movie puts man back in power and specifically glorifies Guy Code as the win all be all way to conduct yourself to obtaining what you most desire.
The movie stars an ensemble cast of Guy Codic actors. Michael Cera plays the candy ass limp dick nice guy turn ultimate bad ass. Portia Doubleday plays the sexy seducing female lead Sheeni Saunders who has a special way of seducing both the good and the bad. The other characters Jean Smart, Zach Galifianakis, Erik Knudsen, Adhir Kalyan, Steve Buscemi, Fred Willard, Ari Graynor, Ray Liotta, Lance Wescott and Justin Long serve as the stepping stone for Michael Cera's alter ego character Francois Dillinger to humiliate. All in all, its a great cast which combines all the things we think in our head but seldom get put into action on the silver screen.
"Nick You're Very Nice But I have a Boyfriend". That is pretty much what the movie is about. A nice guy who bends over backwards to make a woman as comfortable as he can only to be treated like the floor board of a taxi cab. Some say that not all women do this but I have yet to meet one who respects a nice guy who isn't over 180lbs, cankleless, flat ass horse faced space dog! That's right, women of today have been sent on a crash course of feminism that not only is self destructive to themselves but turns nice men into assholes. Thank goodness that Guy Code can correct feminism and is illustrated in full in Youth in Revolt. Moreover, Youth in Revolt is a Love story whose happy ending is achieved by combining guy code with common sense. In the end the woman succumbs to the allure of Guy Code and the guy gets laid in the end. | | | | | | Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday) Sheeni is the stereotypical girl who consciously does not think she is being a manipulative bitch to anyone who shows her true generosity. Furthermore she is a cool, hot, and down to earth girl that draws men into her like bird shit on a freshly washed car. Sheeni is also very cunning and knows how to use a guy to her advantage. The trick with Sheeni is that both the nice guys and the bad guys are drawn to her.
In the movie, Sheeni is basically broken down or manipulated the same way she manipulates the men in her life. Before Sheeni meets Francois Dillinger, she has a similar asshole boyfriend who is a complete jerk not only to her but to friends (Nick). The asshole boyfriend reveals that Sheeni was already attracted to guys who treated her like shit but Nick wanted her for himself. Therefore Sheeni would face another asshole in the form of Francois who is the ultimate asshole. | | | | | | Nick Twisp (Nice Guy)
Nick is the stereotypical nice guy who no one respects, not even his own mother. He is the kind of guy who see's a wounded snake in the middle of the road and nurses it back to health and is surprised when it bites him. Know anyone like that? Did you know that 88% of men are born as nice guys but the are eventually turned into assholes by the non-nurturing hand of feminism? The other 12% of men born are a combination of gays, liberals and guys who listen to Phish. Nick's character is a combination of all of those things.
Nick's character plays by the rules but is left hurt and rejected when he reveals his true feelings to Sheeni Saunders. Nick is intelligent, kind, self sacrificing, attentive, polite, courtesy etc. You know, all the traits girls wish the asshole they were in Love with had. Nick unlike many guys in the "really" real world, becomes aware that he isn't going to get what he wants by being nice so he creates the alter ego "Francois Dillinger". The whole purpose of Nick's character is to remind nice guys of what they truly must be in order to be a real man.

Francois is the alter ego created by Nick in order to over come his Jim Neighbor-ish persona of being a nice guy. Francois is bold, daringly reckless, too cool for school, contemptuous of authority, deceptively intelligent and irresistible to women. He is the perfect definition of an over confident asshole with self esteem that rivals "The World's Most Interesting Man". Francois is cool and collected and doesn't let anything get in his way, not even a girl's honey pot. If Francois's mom asked him to help put the Christmas decorations back in the attic he would keep reading about himself in Vogue magazine... He is really that cool...
Even the name Francois Dillinger invokes coolness that both men and women want to embrace. The name Francois is obviously french reminding us all that french men are romantically sexy assholes. Francois is also a self serving prick and if he's physically attractive his attitude makes him hot. The last name Dillinger is a throw back to the famous American bank robber John Dillinger which represents the cool bad ass persona of the Francois character.
