the great dolemite

Samuel Jackson has been credited for bringing the term "mother fucker" to its highlight use and golden standard during the 1990's. However, Rudy Ray Moore spawned the concepts popular use first in the 1970's but since technology and lack of main stream cohesion it went largely unnoticed by the pale faces. Moore brought a sense of style to the black 70's culture and broke many social taboos with his low budget shenniangans featuring his Dolemite movies. He brought the pimp into mainstream society to a point it was a real thing and inspired others to be as smooth as ice with the ladies in a comedic but firm way.

"Moore starred in dozens of films but is best known for the 1970's classic "Dolemite,". Dolemte was a cult classic low-budget mix of kung fu and dirty humor that he wrote, produced and starred in as the titular wisecracking pimp. The film was a huge hit, spawned many knockoffs (not to mention a few sequels of its own) and was declared many years later, of course to be "the 'Citizen Kane' of blaxploitation films" by The New York Times." (quoted)

Moore's concept of Guy Code was in a raw form and a tightly delivered package. He was all about crushing pussy, beating the bad guy, kicking ass and winning at the end of the day. This was Dolemite. Perhaps his greatest character Moore performed as. From his voracious rhymes to his seducing pimp abilities to his fists of cantankerous justice, Dolemite stood out in the 1970's to its cult classic status of today.

Moore lived a long life and brought many forms of urban culture to the popular films of today. He was a very eccentric performer and is talked about daily by the older generations. Moore can be seen in the Guy Code hall of fame because of his ability to be a pimp and a gentleman at the same swing of his cane or at least on film to those ladies who would disagree. We will always honor his contributions to Guy Code and hope he doesn't cause too much of a ruckus in the next life.
