Micheal Phelps Wins 8 Gold Medals

Michael Phelps is in my opinion the greatest Olympian of all time having won 8 consecutive gold medals in swimming in the 2008 Olympic games. He has changed the face of swimming having beaten American swimmer Mark Spitz's record of 7 consecutive gold medals in the Munich Olympics in 1972. Phelps has won in every way possible winning close races to blowing out his competition. Moreover, Phelps has also broken his own records and made world records in his own events. Micheal Phelps has also set 7 world records at the 2008 Beiging Olympics and sent swimming into new depths for the world watching.

 Phelps and Lezak

Phelps hardest race was the 4x100-meter freestyle relay. With fans watching and his team mates focused they were going to bring this one home for Phelps. It was a team effort but the lime light of America's competitive spirit was on Phelps setting the world record of consecutive medals won.

The race was in danger of being lost to the French who had a world record swimmer of their own, Alain Bernard. Dragging off Bernard, who was hugging the lane line that separated them, Jason Lezak made up ground, but with 25 meters remaining it appeared as if he would run out of pool. Trailing Bernard by half a body length, Lezak put his head down and surged to the wall defeating the French and winning the gold not only for team America but for Phelps. Lezak was the lynchpin that sealed Phelps push to win his goal of all gold.

We honor all the Americans who participated in the Olympics but it is obvious who everyone was watching. It was indeed a team effort to win for Phelps more than it was for America. You will not find a better athlete with class, you can not buy or train for but came naturally to a wonderful human being in Micheal Phelps. His reactions to success illustrates his good nature and sportsmanship not only in swimming but life.

Michael Phelps is not only one of the greatest Olympians alive but a total class act as well. While watching the Olympics it was Phelps name that was shouted more and more as the games pressed on. His quest of breaking world records and achieving a historical 8 gold medals was the talk of the games. It was almost predicted that Phelps would achieve this from the beginning. There was no doubt Phelps was going to make some waves (pun intended) and the US media was all about foreseeing his sucess. This was one of the few times in American history that everyone was all on the same side and cheering for one goal, one theme, one person, and altogether one country United by Phelps. I only cry at war movies but watching Phelps and the American relay team win it August 16th 2008 together made me choke up and re-evaluate my deeds in life.

I am conceded for Micheal Phelps success and performance in the 2008 Olympic games. I am proud of him and more importantly proud of America. Phelps winning has made people forget the criticism of America and for a brief moment made Americans realize how great this country is being the most tolerant and accepting country in all the world with all the worlds population living in some form or fashion in it. If you have doubts then you were not watching the 2008 Olympics. Phelps truly was a reflection of the potential and kinetic greatness of the United States of America.

Phelps in real life is just how he appears after he wins an Olympic gold medal, a classy all American human being. Even if you were competing against him and lost, you were happy for him because you knew he was a great man and deserved it. I would Love to lose at life if it were against Micheal Phelps. In all seriousness this site is just an entertaining joke, but honoring a great man, a great human being like Micheal Phelps is always serious. I wish him luck at life even though he's already broken that record too. Congratulations to Micheal Phelps and to the American relay team who helped Phelps achieve an echoing name in history.
